This experiment (The Amount of Water Affects the Growth in Length of a Lima Bean) is nearly the same as experiment two except we our using lima beans.  Our prediction: If the amount of water a lima bean is fed, affects the growth in length, then the growth in length should change when the amount of water changes.  The experimental group is the lima beans being fed 25 and 100 ml.  The control group is the plant being fed 50 ml.  The independent variable is the amount of water.  The dependent variable is the lima beans' growth.  The amount of water, type of bean, age, weather, and time must be kept constant.  Fortunately everyone had at lest one lima bean grow.  Many lesson were learned.

  Materials

  • Styrofoam Cups 250 ml.
  • Four Lima Beans (one extra)
  • Miracle Gro Potting MIx
  • Tap Water
  • One Measuring Cup
  • Pen/Pencil

 Methods

  1. Gather materials
  2. Poke four holes in the bottom of the cup in a square shape with a pen/pencil
  3. Put lima beans in styrofoam cups
  4. Feed each plant with its specific amount of water
  5. Start recording
  6. Feed plants every day

Data Table

The amount of water affects the growth in length of a lima bean in inches (")

Data Aissa Sam Damian Average
150 ml. 16" 10" 8" 11.3
50 ml. 0" 6" 9" 5"
25 ml. 0" 8" 5" 4.3

Lessons Learned

  • The amount of water affects a Raphunas Sativus Specles more than a lima bean.
  • A small amount of water makes soils hard and very dry.
  • If you over water a lima bean it will seep through the soil.

Nice page, I liked how all of your experiments were related to each other. I think you should make more lessons learned if you can.

I liked it. You made it very well organized. Maybe in the methods you could of said how much water you watered them with.
